Scott Quigg – Featherweight
After being out of the ring for 9 months with a broken jaw, Quigg returned to beat Jose Cayetano on the packed undercard of Joshua vs Molina. Quigg’s most notable fight was against Carl Frampton in a huge fight for the WBA and IBF world super-bantamweight titles, which Quigg lost. Quigg is still someone who contest for a world title again one day but he will have to work back up to the top. Quigg is 31-1-2 which is very impressive for any fighter. In terms of rankings Quigg is number 5 is the WBC rankings at featherweight and is number 8 in the WBA rankings. Scott Quigg is a very good fighter who is capable of being a world champion again one day, could a possible fight between him and Frampton, for the WBA belt Frampton currently holds, be on the cards. This would be a huge fight, the first fight was a complete success with a sold out arena, a rematch at featherweight would be a huge payday for both fighters.
Conor Benn – Welterweight
After an easy victory against Steven Backhouse on the Joshua Molina undercard, Conor Benn is rising up the ranks and could be in line for a title shot in the future. Conor Benn is the son of Nigel Benn who was a professional boxer who was hugely popular and a great fighter. Conor Benn is 6-0 with 4 by knockout, he has the right mindset and ability to do big things in the future. Benn’s next opponent is unclear as of yet but if he keeps fighting on big undercards he will gain more publicity and bigger fights. Benn also fought on the GGG vs Brook undercard which gained him more fans and people who follow him. I think in the future Benn could face a world champion because he is very skilful and has the people in his corner who will keep pushing him forward and will know when is best for hi to have a big fight.
Dillian Whyte – Heavyweight
Dillian Whyte won one of the serious contenders for fight of the year earlier this month. He beat dereck Chisora which was the fight which was before Joshua vs Molina. It was a grudge match after the build up in the Gloves are Off with the pair apparently coming to blows, and at the press conference with Chisora throwing a table at Whyte. The fight saw a lot of punches, which were capable of causing a knockout, being thrown. Whyte has also fought Anthony Joshua in what proved to be one of Joshua’s toughest tests to date. Joshua was wobbled by Whyte and Whyte was the first person to take Joshua past round three, he made it to round 7 but was inevitably knocked out by AJ. Whyte is now in line for a world title shot fairly soon, he has fought some big names and prove the has the ability to be world champion one day.
Rocky Fielding – Super middleweight
Rocky Fielding who has a record of 23-1 is off the back of a win over Istvan Zeller which saw Zeller get dropped to the canvas once in round one which he got back up from. Then in round two the ref stopped the fight when Zeller got hit with a dangerous right hand which dropped him. Fielding is a dangerous fighter who is capable of beating top opponent but it may take a while for him to get a world class fighter to fight him. Fielding has a dangerous right hand which is it connects can drop opponents to the canvas. fielding lost to Callum Smith which set him back a few fights as he ad to fight people who were no match for his standard.
Frankie Gavin – Welterweight
Frankie Gavin is a top level fighter who’s most recent fight saw him lose to Sam Eggington. Gavin is 23-3 with one of the lost being Kell Brook who is a former world champion who outboxed him. Gavin’s biggest fights was against Brook in what was a shot at the IBF World Welterweight title. Gavin is a solid fighter who could be a world champion one day but the losses to Eggington and other were important as he learnt form them fights, what not to do. Gavin could face some big opponents in the future if he keeps fighting the way he has been.
Sam Eggington – Welterweight
Off of the back of the huge win over Frankie Gavin, Sam Eggington is a prospect in boxing who could be a world champion. Eggington does not have a next fight set as of yet but the next fight will be bigger and better. Eggington is a solid fighter who is 19-3 with 11 KO’s, he is someone who could have a world title shot one day. I think Eggingotn could have had a world title shot sooner but because he has lost 3 bouts he has fallen behind a bit.
Nathan Cleverly – Light Heavyweight
Cleverly is a great fighter who is 30-3 and has beaten some top opponents in the past including Tony Bellew (in their first fight, he lost the second fight). Cleverly won the WBA world light-heavyweight title in a fight which saw Braehmer retire at the start of round 7. Cleverly now, I think, will defend his title a few times and if successful on each time he could have unification bout in 2018. I think “Clev” isa great fighter and he could be a unified champion. Cleverly is a great fighter and his next fight could be against Braehmer in a rematch after he retired with an injured arm or what was reportedly to be a dislocated elbow. Cleverly will be set for big things in the future and we could see a unified champion in the Light-Heavyweight division as early as the end of next year I think.
