The heavyweight division is one of the most talked about at the moment so lets dive into what is happening and what is coming up?

Let’s start with Anthony Joshua. One of the best heavyweights in the world at the moment and with his upcoming fight with Wladimir Klitschko he could become a two title world champion. Joshua is a solid, undefeated fighter and is capable of beating a lot of highly rated heavyweights. As a young fighter he has many years to come of what may prove himself as a serious contender to be the unified world heavyweight champion.

Wladimir Klitschko who is set to fight AJ next is a former champion who is known to be a huge fighter. He was a multi-title world champion until Tyson Fury defeated him in a huge upset last year. Klitschko who is 40 years old is being questioned as to whether he is as good as he was a few years ago. Some say that Joshua may defeat Klitschko without much trouble due to Klitschko’s age and the fact he hasn’t fought in around 12 months.

Let’s talk about Tyson Fury, he was unified World Heavyweight champion after beating Wladimir Klitschko last year. Fury was then stripped of his IBF belt for not facing his mandatory challenger. Fury then pulled out the rematch with Klitschko with an ankle injury. The fight was then rescheduled and Fury pulled out again due to medical problems. He was then stripped of his belts all of which have been or are going got be fought for in the future. Fury was 25-0 before he pulled out of the Klitschko fight. He was a good fighter and caused one of the biggest upsets in boxing history. Whether he will return to the ring or not is unclear as of yet.

Next up is David Haye who made his comeback after 3 and a half years out of boxing. His two fights since his comeback saw him destroy his two opponents. Haye is set to fight Tony Bellew on March 4th next which will be a showstopper. Both fighters know they need to win this fight. After coming under the light of fighting two “easy” opponents for his comeback, Bellew has said he will knock Haye out. Haye was a good fighter when he fought  people like Wladimir Klitschko and Dereck Chisora. The fight between Haye and Bellew will certainly be interesting and will prove how good Haye really is or isn’t.

Part two of this post which will feature people such as Shannon Briggs, Dillian Whyte, Dereck Chisora and more will be released tomorrow.
