This weekend is going to see a big heavyweight showdown. Joseph Parker is set to face Andy Ruiz Jr for the vacant WBO heavyweight title.

Parker who is 21-0 with 18 knockouts is a serious contender for the belt but has less experience than his opponent. Ruiz is 29-0 with 19 knockouts is no pushover with an extra 8 fights he has more experience and knows how to handle the pressure in the big fights.

This fight for a world heavyweight title will be huge, taking place in Aukland, New Zealand both fighters will want to emerge victorious. Parker was the mandatory challenger for Anthony Joshua’s IBF heavyweight belt but Eddie Hearn and AJ managed to get around his mandatory challenger so he can fight Eric Molina and Wladimir Klitschko.

Neither Ruiz nor Parker have contested for a world title before but both have earned this shot. Parker’s own trainer Kevin Barry said  he thinks Ruiz’s hand speed is faster which will be crucial in this bout. Barry also said how he thinks this could go the distance even with both fighter’s knockout records.

I think that this fight will go at least 8 rounds if not the full distance. Both fighters are very tough and I think they can both take punches and keep fighting. Due to this being a world title fight I don’t think either fighter will run at the other swinging punches, I think both will be very slow and pick their punches carefully. With that being said I think that Parker will emerge victorious. This is because I think he will thin he has more to prove being under some of the spotlight during the rumours of him fighting AJ.

Ruiz and Parker’s bout will be a huge clash as both fighters well they deserve a world title, who actually has the ability to win a world title will be shown on the 10th.
