Lucas Browne vs Shannon Briggs is going to be a highly anticipated fight, fighting for the WBC Heavyweight Title. Browne who is 24-0 has been wanting a shot at a World Title for a while and now the time has come.

No date or venue had been set, all was set

Until…

Browne failed a drugs test. After having the WBA belt stripped from him after testing positive for Performance Enhancing Drugs, 6 months later he joined the Clean Boxing Program. This meant that he could have a drug test randomly any day of the year. Which he did. And he failed.

So what does this mean? The fight may be off? The WBA may look for another opponent for Briggs. Or the fight may still go ahead but may face a delay.

If they are searching for a new opponent who could it be? Luis Ortiz. Ortiz 28-0 is a possible opponent for Briggs. David Haye. Briggs and Haye have an intense rivalry with Briggs constantly taunting Haye. Haye who has had 2 comeback fights and emerged victorious in both is searching for a World Title chance. Could this be his opportunity?
